All members are now required to have 10 posts before they may view the Resources and Skin Database section. This has been implemented because of the amount of members who have joined and gotten one post so they may get skins. ~Chort |

Totally correct decision there. If I were to judge this decision, I would rather obey it than misjudge it. Some people nowadays just like in ad forums post for selfishness. After posting They leave, Hope this forum do the same thing with security. Let them post an amount first before going to a certain forum. |

Not trying to cause trouble but isn't it just as likely that people will simply post 10 times just to get access to the skins like they did with one post? I've never really understood this requirement. Is the point of a forum to have quantity or quality when it comes to the postings and discussions. Personally, I think requirements like this tend to limit the later. |

I understand what you're saying but what is gained by forcing people to post? How many will still be here regularly after their 10th post once they find that special theme they want? What is gained when people scan the forums searching for excuses to post to get to that magic #10 so they can get to the good stuff? In my opinion, forums live or die based on the quality of the discussion threads. For example, there is a political discussion forum called America's Debate that's been around for awhile (www.americasdebate.com for those who are interested). They have no posting requirements. In fact the strongly discourage spamming, "I agree", off-topic, etc. posts. Yet they have 100's a day from lord know's how many members. It's the quality of the posts and debate topics along with their strong moderation that makes them such a success, not posting milestones and the like. In the end it's the right of those running sites like this to establish whatever rules they like. As users, we can either choose to follow those rules or go to other sites. I accept that as I imagine most people do. But I still wonder what is gained by such restrictions. |
